BWSP Hammond Bogaru & Associates Senior Partner Nicholas Hammond was recently appointed member of the board of the Ratiu Center for Democracy, a position which allows him to continue advocacy efforts for human rights and governance and transparency.
Nicholas Hammond will be involved in supporting the development of such programs as “Not For Sale – Choose For Your Own Sake”, the community outreach program against human trafficking, which responds to the growing phenomenon of human trafficking in Romania. Through projects and campaigns, this program hopes to increase the knowledge of those both directly and indirectly at risk, and create a network between community, civil society, and organizations that have the authority to offer social services or public security.
Nicholas Hammond first came to Romania in the early 1990s to advise on major privatization cases of former state owned companies and worked for local offices of international law firms before setting up Hammond Bogaru & Associates law firm with co-founder Christian Bogaru. Nicholas Hammond has been actively involved in the Romanian community for over 15 years and has been supporting advocacy initiatives as a member of the BRCC Board of Directors and by supporting various charities operating in Romania.
